Job Description:

Pay Range: $37.27 to $40.25 per hour (including casual loading). Higher rates apply for weekend and public holiday work (50% extra on Saturdays and 100% extra on Sundays). An Adverse Working Conditions Allowance also applies.
Work Schedule: Flexible casual shifts, including early mornings, weekends, and public holidays.

Garbage Truck Operator (Casual)

Roles and Responsibilities:

As a Garbage Truck Operator, your responsibilities will include:

Operating Council’s garbage trucks efficiently and safely.
Conducting waste collection services in adherence to established procedures.
Complying with all road traffic laws and regulations.
Performing occasional general laboring duties, as required.

Job Requirements:

To excel in this role, candidates should have:

A valid Heavy Rigid (HR) driver’s license (essential).
Recent experience operating heavy rigid vehicles.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including early mornings, weekends, and public holidays.
The ability to learn quickly and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
A strong commitment to providing excellent customer service.

Eligibility Requirements:

Australian citizen, permanent resident, New Zealand citizen, or valid work visa holder.
Completion of identity checks (100 points of identification).
Willingness to undergo an integrity/criminal history check, a pre-employment medical assessment, and an audiogram.
Recommended vaccinations (Council covers costs as per RM-AP-23 Staff Vaccinations Policy).
